Lurgan Independent Advice Information Service
Lurgan Independent Advice and Information Service Formerly known as Shankill Help Service, LIAISE is a community based organization that provide free and impartial advice, information and representation. LIAISE services all the community and can justifiably claim to be used by all the Community.
Last year LIAISE dealt with 2118 individual callers and 1862 telephone callers which places a great demand on the existing staff and demonstrates the need for additional staff and increases the urgency of looking at ways of recruiting and encouraging voluntary staff.
Unfortunately none of the current government training schemes are seen as a possible way of recruiting staff because of the intensive training involved. Presentation at tribunals continues to be at the forefront of Liaises work.
